Johanne Brun (Soprano) (1874, 23/8, København - 1954, 3/2, København)

She studied singing in Copenhagen and made her debut at the Royal Opera in Copenhagen as Queen of the Night in ''Zauberflöte'' (1896). She married the tenor Frederik Brun (1852-1929), from whom she separated in 1906. Till 1916 Johanne Brun remained engaged by the Copenhagen Opera. Then in the 1916-1922 seasons she sang at the Opernhaus in Nürnberg, from 1922 to 1924 seasons at the Stadttheater in Aachen and in the 1925-1926 season at the Opera House of Gdansk. Then she again appeared in Copenhagen not only in opera performances, but also in concerts. Her repertoire included The Queen of the Night in ''Zauberflöte'', Philine in ''Mignon'', Rosina in ''Barbiere di Siviglia'', Sieglinde in ''Walküre'', Isolde in ''Tristan und Isolde'', Brünnhilde in ''Ring-Zyklus'', Elsa in ''Lohengrin'', Norma and the title part in ''Aida''. In Nuremberg she took part in 1919 in the premiere of the opera ''Ein Fest zu Haderslev'' by Robert Heger. Her brother, Johan Nordal Brun, was a famous operatic tenor (1857, 1/11, Odense - 1906, 22/9, København).
